About this deal

Neil Young announces the December 2nd release of a 50th Anniversary Edition of his 1972 album ‘Harvest’. But Chris Bellman’s mastering on the 2009 reissue gives it extra definition that helps clarify the attack. I compared the original and the 2009 Reprise pressing of Harvest to the very good Nautilus Super Disc edition from 1982. Harvest is the fourth studio album by Canadian / American musician Neil Young, released in February 1972 on Reprise Records, catalogue number MS 2032.

Neil might've been in the middle of the road here, but you can see the ditch coming with these songs. Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers.Americana - steel, guitar, slide guitar, banjo - stripped down and rebuilt with every jagged edge exposed.

The reverb on Young’s voice sounds more vivid and he is placed more securely out in front of the ensemble.Somehow I bought this fantastic album back around 2010, opened it up and looked at the pretty art, but then didn't get around to listening to it until today. Anyway, I’ve been listening a lot to Radio Paradise while working from home and he features fairly regularly on there and that has sort of piqued my interest to explore his (large!

Young’s fourth solo album remains one of the most beloved in his catalog and is dense with songs that have long-permeated radio waves. Released in February 1972, Harvest was Neil Young’s third solo album and is one of the most successful and well-loved albums in his long career. I’m very late to the Neil Young party, he’s one of those artists I’ve known about but just never really listened to.On this number one 1972 album, even the singer’s acquired-taste voice comes across smooth and beautiful – the smash Heart of Gold, with steel guitars and Linda Ronstadt’s backup vocals, is by far young’s most commercial-sounding song.

After 20 years, Neil Young finally decided to release the sequel to Harvest, his most commercially successful album.I’ve listened to Harvest a couple of times on Qobuz and thought it might be a nice one to start my NY collection on vinyl. On the title track, the piano accompanying Young’s guitar in the right channel seems easier to hear, too, and Keith’s pedal steel arrives with more force. The sound, on tracks like 'Old Man' and 'The Needle and the Damage Done,' was Americana stripped down and rebuilt with every jagged edge exposed.
