Although I wasn’t rolling around the room in fits of laughter, I did enjoy a snigger or two, courtesy of both the writing and the illustrations of the creative duo of this series. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. The book begins with the narrator and fictional depiction of the author, Andy Griffiths, giving an introduction to himself, his friend and illustrator Terry Denton, and their treehouse.
which we read in australia before we managed to get this one, Guess what we bought in advance of its publication ? Recomendo muito a crianças e a adultos que ainda tem uma criança dentro de si (estou muito poética hoje). Andy's been a bit stressed, so Terry has decided they should head up to their new camping ground level for a much-needed holiday. Kids will love turning the pages to discover if the tooth fairy or the riddles of the deep-thoughts thinking room can help Terry and Andy find a tale in time to keep their editor happy.
We had made a movie like this several days before reading this book, so it was of particular interest to both of us. There are echoes of the Just stories in the Andy and Terry friendship, the breakaway stories in the Bad Book (the Adventures of Super Finger), there's the easy readability of the Cat on the Mat and the Big Fat Cow, and like all these books, the illustrations are as much a part of the story as the story itself. This illustrated guide to life, the universe and everything in between takes young readers on a whistle-stop tour of history, science, nature and lots more. With a baby-dinosaur petting zoo and a super-secret floor to explore, the real question is whether they can stay focused long enough to meet the deadline for their new book and avoid the wrath of their editor!
Two new characters – Andy and Terry – live here, make books together, and have a series of completely nutty adventures. Along the way, they encounter a giant mutant mermaid sea monster, the Maze of Doom, a boxing elephant, exploding eyeballs, a never-ending staircase, the Story Police, and the Tooth Fairy. But those things are only funny because we've decided that they're funny and can we please just live in a society where we give up on destructive scripts?
